For HVAC & Plumbing Owners
Thinking About Your Next Chapter? Let's Talk — Owner to Owner.
You spent years building an HVAC or plumbing company people trust. When you start thinking about what's next, selling to a private-equity rollup isn't your only option. AirWorks Solutions is a family-owned company in Ventura County — and we'd welcome an honest, confidential conversation about partnering.
We get it
You built something real.
Whether you run a one-truck shop or a team of twenty, you didn't get here by accident. You answered the 2 a.m. calls, trained your people, ate the jobs that went sideways, and earned a reputation in your community one honest job at a time. The trucks, the tools, the customer list — those are the easy parts to value. The trust your name carries is the part that took a career to build.
That's worth protecting. It deserves a thoughtful next chapter — not a fire sale to whoever writes the biggest check and disappears into a spreadsheet.
Who this is for
Is this the right conversation for you?
This page is for HVAC and plumbing company owners who are starting to think about what comes next — and who want it handled the right way. It's probably worth a conversation if:
- You're starting to think about retirement, slowing down, or simply a new chapter
- You care more about where your people and customers land than the last dollar of a sale
- You built a real reputation in HVAC or plumbing and want it honored, not erased
- You're a one-truck operation or a larger team anywhere in Ventura County or Southern California
The honest part
Why so many owners think twice about private equity
Over the last few years, private-equity groups have been buying up local HVAC and plumbing companies across California at a remarkable pace. For some owners, that's genuinely the right fit — and we'd never tell you otherwise. But many owners tell us the same quiet worry: once the deal closes, the things that made the business special start to slip away.
- Revenue targets that push commission-based, replace-first selling onto your loyal customers
- Price increases and new fees that your customers feel the moment the deal closes
- Layoffs, schedule changes, and culture loss once an outside firm starts hunting “efficiencies”
- Your name, reputation, and decades of local relationships fading into a faceless national brand
- Decisions about your people made in a boardroom two time zones away
We're not here to bash anyone — for the right owner, private equity can make sense. We just believe you deserve to know there's a family-owned alternative before you sign anything.
The alternative
A different kind of partner — family-owned, not private equity
AirWorks Solutions was founded in 2010 by Kevin and Stephanie Allen, right here in Camarillo. Kevin started in the trade in 2002 and built the field side on a single rule — options, not ultimatums. Stephanie, our CEO with an MBA and a law degree, built the business around it. We're a women-owned, family-run company, NATE-certified and a Fujitsu Elite Contractor, doing HVAC and plumbing across both homes and commercial properties.
We grew the way you probably did — one honest job and one great hire at a time, now 40+ people strong — and we never traded our values to hit someone else's quarterly number. We're not about to start with the company you built. “Options, not ultimatums” isn't just how we treat homeowners; it's how we'd treat you.
What it could look like
It starts with a conversation, not a pitch
Every owner's situation is different, so there's no script. But here's what matters to us — and what we'd want to protect together:
Your team has a home
The people who built your company are exactly the people we want. We've grown to 40+ team members by bringing good people in — never by cutting crews to hit a number. Your technicians get the stability of an established, licensed company, ongoing training, and a culture with no commission pressure.
Your customers stay cared for
They keep getting the honest, upfront, no-pressure service they trusted you for — the AirWorks Way. “Options, not ultimatums” applies to them every bit as much as it applies to you.
Your legacy is respected
The reputation you spent years earning means something. We want to honor what you built — your name, your standards, your relationships — not erase it the day a deal closes.
It moves on your timeline
Stay on to mentor the next generation, transition over months, or step back when you're ready. There's no one-size template — we'll work to find a structure that fits your life and your family.
Confidential from the first hello. A conversation costs you nothing and obligates you to nothing.

Questions owners ask
Straight answers, owner to owner
How is partnering with AirWorks different from selling to private equity?
AirWorks Solutions is a family-owned company founded in 2010 by Kevin and Stephanie Allen — not a private-equity rollup backed by outside investors chasing a quarterly return. The team, customers, and reputation you built are the whole point of a partnership, not costs to trim. Decisions stay local in Ventura County, with the owners you actually talked to.
What happens to my team if I partner with AirWorks?
The people who built your company are exactly who we want. We've grown to 40+ team members by bringing good people in, not by cutting crews to hit a target. Your technicians get the stability of an established, licensed company, ongoing training, and an honesty-first culture with no commission pressure.
What happens to my customers and my company name?
Your customers keep getting the honest, upfront, no-pressure service they trusted you for — the AirWorks Way. How your brand and name are carried forward is something we'd work through together; the goal is to honor the reputation you built, not erase it overnight.
Do I have to sell everything and walk away immediately?
No. Every owner's situation is different. Some want a clean exit; others want to stay involved, mentor the next generation, or step back gradually. We'll work to find a structure and a timeline that fit your life rather than force you into a template.
Is the conversation confidential?
Completely. A conversation costs you nothing and obligates you to nothing, and it stays between us. You'd be talking directly with Kevin and Stephanie — not a broker or an outside firm.
What kind of companies is AirWorks looking to partner with?
HVAC and plumbing companies across Ventura County and Southern California whose owners care about where their people and customers land and want a thoughtful next chapter — whether you run a single truck or a larger team. If that sounds like you, it's worth a conversation.
